my week...
...has primarily been spent with the child on the right and his family--my brother Steven, his wife Lois, their daughter Alyssa, and the adorable boy on the right, Bradley. (I can't figure out why blogger is forcing me to underline all of this--I can't turn it off!)
What better way to spend a week of carefree vacation than to entertain a 4 year old and a one and a half year old? No better way. None at all.

You can get rid of the underline if you go to the "Edit html" and look for the code in chevrons that says '{span style="text-decoration: underline;"}' and delete it, and then look for the next appearance of {/span} and delete that too.
I babysat for the first time (can you believe it!) last night for a friend (I guess people don't often ask guys to babysit). A 5yr old and 3yr old. Just for a couple of hours. It was pretty scary. It all went well until the last 20mins when one of the kids woke up coughing like crazy and then started crying. So I took him in the living room and tried to comfort him but he kept saying he wanted his mummy, which of course I couldn't help him with (I'd left my disguise kit at home). So I sat with a crying, coughing 3yr old in my arms for 20mins. Turns out he was really crying cos his bear had fallen off his bunk and he thought he'd lost it.
I'm still shaking from the whole ordeal. ;)
In response to your last post:
Anglican churches are wonderful, as I've discovered in Cairo of all places - I spent Christmas eve at a Eucharist too, in a beautiful little church. I thought you might be interested in the fact that the Anglican/Episcopal diocese here has a strong relationship with the Copts, much stronger than any other Western church.
Happy new year Sara!
i agree, happy new year
